<p>One of the great things about having an art blog is that you  can update it right away.  It can often take days or weeks to  update an art web site. You can also edit a post and correct  it immediately. And it is also possible to go back and edit or  tweak a post after you have published it on your artist&#8217;s  blog any time you want to.</p>
<p>You can do very different things with an art blog than you can  with an art website. They are a great combination.</p>
<p>An artist&#8217;s web site is like a constant one-person show. An  artist&#8217;s blog has a very different tone than an artist&#8217;s web  site. An artist&#8217;s blog is like having an ongoing chatty art  conversation.</p>
<p>The subject matter can be much more personal in an art  blog.  You can talk about events and information that just  would not fit in with an artist&#8217;s website.</p>

This is especially true if you have been bitten by the blogging bug and spent the last few month, weeks or even days churning out post after post of clever repartee. But in order to build the fan base you secretly crave, you have to let blog surfers know where you?re at and why you are worthy of their undying devotion.</p>
<p>1. First, be sure your blog is search engine friendly. It will help the search engines pick up and categorize your site easier. Edit your blog template to include a meta tag with search terms related to the content of your blog.</p>
<p>2. Then hang out your ?open for business sign? by getting your blog listed in directories and on topsites. Choose your directories wisely as most require a link back and you do not want clutter up your blog with fifty pages of directory links. Ideally, you want to get listed in directories with a high page rank but don?t completely discount newer directories. You will, usually, get included into newer directories much faster because they are trying to build their database as quickly as possible.</p>
<p>3. Submit your RSS link to syndication directories. Many aggregators look here for content to offer their subscribers.</p>
<p>4. Write and submit articles to article repositories. Content is king and article directories have exploded on the scene as a great way to get it quickly. It doesn?t matter if you are the CEO of a megastore or a regular ole Joan, they?ll take what you have to offer. Be sure to edit for grammar and spelling and include an anchored link to your blog in the author bio section.</p>
<p>5. Weigh in on controversial topics related to the content of your blog. Let?s face it, we are a nation that loves drama and people will search for and visit places that offer information or opinions on the latest scandals.</p>
<p>6. Be sure to provide a link to your blog on your website and vice versa. Also most forums allow you to add a signature to your posts. Write something witty and include a link to your blog.</p>
<p>7. Join a blog community such as Blog Explosion or Blog Clicker. You earn credits by visiting blogs listed in the community directory which translates into return visits to your site. You can also use earned credits to purchase ad space in the form of a banner rotation or being featured on the opening page of the site.</p>
<p>8. Be active in the blogosphere. Most bloggers will allow you to link to add a link to your site so visit other blogs and leave comments. DO NOT SPAM! <p>15. Tell people about it. Recruit visitors offline by talking to internet savvy friends and family about your blog. A guerilla marketing tactic is to print a bunch of business cards with your blog address and leave them in public places. Cheesy, yes but hey people are curious.</p>

<p>About Blogs</p>
<p>Several years ago, surfers started collecting information and interesting links they encountered in their travels through webspace. As the time passed they started creating logs of the information they collected and soon they started creating their own web logs. The web logs enabled them to update the information and links as often as possible. This was what the guy in the conference was doing. Improvements in Web design tools have certainly made uploading and updating easier for them.</p>
<p>Blogs are more permanent than posts to an online discussion list, more dynamic than older-style home pages. They are more personal than traditional journalism, and definitely more public than diaries. A blog is often a mixture of what is happening in a person&#8217;s life and what is happening on the Web, a kind of hybrid diary site. So, there are as many unique types of blogs as there are people.</p>
<p>These are a few common characteristics of a blog, but blog types may slightly vary. Some blogs provide succinct description of judiciously selected links. <p>More than a list of links and less than a full-blown zine, weblogs may be hard to describe but easy to recognize. A blog can be recognized by its format: a webpage with new entries placed at the top, updated frequently. Often at the side of the page is a list of links pointing to similar sites. Some sites consist only of a weblog. Others include the weblog as a part of a larger site. Even though there are so many different blogs, there is one thing common about all the bloggers: most are noncommercial and are impassioned about their subjects. Defining Blogs</p>

<p>Blogs are alternatively called Web Logs or Weblogs. However, blog is used unanimously because it seems less likely to cause confusion, as web log can also mean a server&#8217;s log files.</p>

<p>Both personal sites and lists of links have existed since the web was born. Indeed, the ability to link one document to the other that existed on the global network drew early enthusiasts to the Web. They published pages and eagerly perused the pages published by others. That was the time when the accessibility to the pages from any computer with a modem and a browser was more important than the content of that page. For a while, webpages became an interesting addition to the cyberspace. Then the space got crowded.  As a result the web grew at an exponential rate and search for the required information became difficult and simultaneously more time consuming.</p>
<p>Until, a few of these enthusiasts decided to put the links they collected daily onto a single webpage. These people placed their stuff  descriptive text and link/s, for example: their travel records, on the web. The text enabled the reader to know why they should click the link and wait for the page to download. And so a particular type of website was born.</p>
<p>The New York Times article about a website named LemonYellow, published in July 1999, didnt say a word about weblogs, but affirmed the notion that webloggers were onto something.</p>
<p>Most of the early weblog editors designed or maintained websites for a living. Few of these editors just knew HTML - the simple coding language used to create webpages.</p>
<p>With Weblogs becoming popular, the personal websites became extensions of their day-to-day lives. Webloggers started rolling personal journals  ongoing links-laden riffs on a favorite subject. Soon they linked to general interest articles to online games, and often to Web-related news.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I read over a lot of blogs each week, casually surfing one or two of the blog exchanges I belong.</p>
<p>I realized yesterday that I seldom read the whole entry unless it&#8217;s very short. Many are quite uncomfortable to read, some downright excruciating, in terms of their grammatical skills, spelling, and style. Because it is such an immediate and off-the-cuff personal expression, do the standard language rules apply?</p>
<p>The conversational nature of a blog leads naturally to an informal, casual approach that can be refreshing and innovative, indirectly echoing some of the great writers of the past who used dialect and local expressions to vitalize their work.</p>
<p>It is unfortunate that so many who write don&#8217;t understand basic language rules so cannot effectively break them. When it takes major time and effort to understand what on earth the writer is trying to say, rather than being able to appreciate the content and point of view being expressed, it becomes merely an exercise in frustration.</p>
<p>The beauty, and ultimate value of blogging, is that communication is direct, individual, and uncensored. No editor with an eye on public opinion or potential legal consequences is cutting out whole paragraphs in fear they will offend. There is no filter applied by conservative management or the need for committee consensus prior to publication.</p>
<p>However, those of us who publish our thoughts and opinions to the world do have one big responsibility: to our readers. We can, happily, say anything we want but need to clearly communicate our point of view.</p>
<p>Anything less demeans the value of this wonderful new medium and leads to millions of electronic pages that fail to unite us in community, as is our goal, but merely consumes virtual space like the incoherent ramblings of a lonely psychotic.</p>

<p>You see, many of you shun the entrepreneurial types. They must be after money, and either you won?t give it to them, or you have to, because they have something you want?, and you may not even like them.</p>
<p>By the same token, you enslave yourselves to Google?s adsense, making your blog overcrowded with other people?s calls for your visitors bucks, whether qualified or not, and giving them an immediate exit from your contents in order to WHAT? To become part of Google?s FedEx club (Paychecks of $10,000 delivered to the door).</p>
<p>So there, you install that little ?Donate? button on your own site, wait and hope? for MONEY; isn?t that what you are doing?</p>
<p>Two days ago, I have been accused of having a fake blog, being called a splogger by ?fellows? from the WP forum (podz Support Maven; mikep Member), who preferred to call me names rather than answering a help request of mine ?Why my images do not show on the links in WP, with URLs qualified?. However, my blog supplies any visitor with carefully chosen and sometimes priceless information. If I get a commission, I eat, and then I can continue researching on behalf of any blogger?s time and money savings, investing my valuable time; something you won?t have to do.</p>
<p>In the process, I have also helped the visitor who did otherwise not know about the software, the innovator who thought it out and has to be remunerated for it, and the payment processor, affiliate system provider providing the bandwidth. In short, my action was a 4-fold benefit, apart from the fact that it brought a DIRECT result for my activity.</p>
<p>Did your source (maker, creator) give you your brain to hope and wait, or to have an idea that compels your site visitors to hand over their buck right now? Are you in charge of who?s right and who?s wrong, or supposed to be a fellow human?</p>
<p>I find that many people with active online presence are extremely judgmental, policing others. They seem to be unaware that EVERYTHING one thinks, says, or does backfires on oneself like knocking ones own head with a hammer. Will they, someday, get it that one cannot hurt another, for what?s supposedly ?wrong? with the other is a REFLECTION of God?s (your inner) image?</p>
<p>So, they keep smashing the mirror, and for some reason, the person, or cause of reflecting what bothers doesn?t go away?</p>
<p>All this has been answered by a strong, silent type, a man of few words, Jesus The Christ. He did not tell us to sit, wait and hope, but to be profitable, take oil in the lamp, ask, seek and knock ? most importantly NOT to judge. He is not a weird eccentric in cloak and sandals, but the only being on earth with a 100% applied understanding of wisdom, and His instructions are SCIENTIFIC &#038; exacting.</p>
<p>Regardless of whether you believe in wisdom (oil), or just remain ignorant of its practicality, entrepreneurship is when one desperately looks for answers until they are found, and NOT to sit on a ?Throne? in the self-imposed spiritual basement.</p>
<p>I have also been to the How-to corporation?s forum, and found that the forum monitor ridicules his visitors? Good business?</p>
<p>My point is, if you want money, do something creative to get it. That?s ?knocking?. BTW, money is a symbol for flow, or bottleneck in the mind.</p>
<p>Spiritual entrepreneurship differs from all else by having the best of humanity at heart and never deviating from it by listening to the ?majority?, or through ?democracy? (same thing). Spiritual truth is based upon Theocracy, the authority of the highest, most abstract idea, put into practice and superseding everything else.</p>
<p>Only those, who ?see &#038; do? (understand spiritual law &#038; principle and enact it) can be great in the kingdom? What?s the kingdom? Find?</p>
